Brass Texture Plate Ripples

With low relief these brass plates are now available in two sizes and are ideal for producing the shallow textures required when adding gold highlights using Keum Boo techniques. Due to the process used to make them they are not always perfectly flat and I have found the way to get around this when rolling out your clay is to place the spacers or cards (whichever you use to determine the thickness) on top of the brass plate and press firmly.

They can also be used for adding texture to sterling and fine silver sheet by passing through a rolling mill.
